Front Door Glass

  1. Remove the door trim and waterproof film. See DOOR TRIM & WATERPROOF FILM  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove the door drip line weatherstrip.
  2. Loosen the following bolts and nuts. See Fig 1 .
    • Delta Sash
    • Equalizer arm bracket
    • Front/rear glass guide track
    • Up stop
    • Inner stabilizer

  3. When the window glass is positioned at the lower limit, put the 0.04 in. (1.0 mm) thick feeler gauge between the glass and the outer stabilizer of the belt line molding (teflon fiber surface: the higher surface of the two steps) and press the inner stabilizer against the glass. Then tighten the bolts of the inner stabilizer. See Fig 2 .

  6. Strongly press the up stop against the lift arm bracket of the regulator and tighten it. See Fig 3 for window glass adjustment dimensions. Tighten the bolts and nuts which fasten the front and rear guide tracks. See Fig 4 .
  7. Tighten the bolts which fasten the equalizer arm bracket. Tighten the two delta sash fastening bolts (A) and (B) so that the end lines of the window glass and delta sash smoothly contact each other at the lip without step. See Fig 5 .
  8. Lower the window glass to the lower limit, and tighten the remaining bolt (C) which fastens the delta sash. See Fig 5 .

  9. CAUTION: When mounting, completely eliminate wrinkles and dislocation.
CAUTION: If any occurs in the appointed Z area when the front door is closed, pull the weatherstrip in the roof section backward during mounting.

  10. Mount the drip line weatherstrip on the weatherstrip holder. See Fig 6 .
  11. Open and close the door and raise the window glass to check the fitting state of the door concerning the following items:
    • When the door is slowly closed with the glass fully closed, the clearance between the glass and glass catch must be in the dimensional range shown. See Fig 7 . In case of insufficient clearance, the glass will protrude the catch when the door is closed. In case of excessive clearance, there may be suction noise at high driving speeds since the glass is not caught by the glass catch.
    • When the glass is fully closed with the door closed the clearance between the weatherstrip holder and the door glass must be within the dimensions shown. See Fig 7 .
    • Keeping the door closed, move the glass up and down fully to verify that no abnormal noise is heard.
    • When the glass is half opened or fully opened, a glass backlash of 0.04 in. (1 mm) must be provided in the outer stabilizer section of the belt line molding. If no clearance is provided, the glass will be damaged. On the contrary, excessive clearance will cause a rattling noise.
    • When the glass is fully closed, the glass end must be parallel to the glass catch and weatherstrip in the roof section and the two up stops must simultaneously come into contact.
    • Check the pressure on the glass be keeping the glass fully closed. Slowly close the door, verifying that the step of the high light line of the door panel is approximately 0.79-0.98 in. (20-25 mm) between the front and rear doors when the front door glass comes into contact with the weatherstrip section at the top of the center pillar. See Fig 8 . In case of insufficient pressure, the glass will protrude the glass catch when the door is closed or the glass is raised. In case of excessive pressure, the door will be poorly closed or the glass will not be closed to the upper limit.
