Wiper Relay: Montero

  1. If wipers do not stop in the correct position when the wiper switch is set to the intermittent position, check to see if output voltage from terminal No. 3 is synchronized with operation of wipers. SeeFigure . When wipers are stopped, voltage should be 12 volts. When wipers are operating, voltage should be zero.
  2. If wipers do not operate when wiper switch is set to intermittent position, confirm that power is supplied to terminals No. 1 and No. 4. Confirm that voltage between terminal No. 6 and ground is zero.
  3. If wipers do not operate when wiper switch is turned on, confirm that power is supplied to terminals No. 1 and No. 4. Confirm that voltage between terminal No. 5 and ground is zero while washer switch is on.
  4. Confirm that voltage between terminal No. 3 and ground is 12 volts at the moment the washer switch is turned on, and that the voltage is zero approximately one second later. Voltage should also be zero within 2 to 5 seconds after washer switch is turned off.
