Steering System - Power: Description

Information in this article covers steering gear for all models except Galant. This article contains only removal and installation of Galant steering gear.
Power-assisted rack and pinion steering system consists of a vane pump, flow control valve and an oil reservoir.
The belt-driven vane pump supplies fluid through hoses to the flow control valve. The flow control valve supplies fluid to the rack and pinion steering gear to turn the wheels
On the Galant, the rack and pinion steering is electronically controlled.
