Throttle Opener Operating Speed

  1. Turn lights and accessories off, place transmission in Neutral. Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached. Electric cooling fan must be off (if equipped). Make sure that curb idle is within specifications. If necessary, reset idle speed to specifications.
  2. Turn A/C off and disconnect vacuum hose from throttle opener nipple. Connect vacuum pump to nipple and apply 20 in. Hg.
  3. Adjust engine speed to specification with throttle opener adjusting screw. See Figure .
