Installing the engine wiring harness for sensor system 2
NOTE:

Improper routing of cables and wiring harnesses.
Trapped, crushed or damaged cables may cause short circuits and malfunctions.

- Route all cables without abrasions, do not trap and crush.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Detents, guides and mounting elements must not be damaged or missing.
Detents, guides and mounting elements must not be damaged or missing.
- Feed in engine wiring harness (1) for sensor system 2 and install.
- Connect and lock the connector of the DME control unit.
- Connect and lock the connector of the integrated power supply module (PDM).
- Connect the connector to the heating element of the crankcase ventilation system and lock.
- Connect the connector of the electrical wastegate valve actuator and lock.
- Connect the connector of the intake camshaft sensor and lock.
- Connect the connector of the exhaust camshaft sensor and lock.
- Connect and lock the connector of the rail pressure sensor.
- Connect and lock the connector for the tank vent valve.
- Connect and lock the connector of the hot film air mass meter.
- Connect the connector of both VANOS solenoid actuators and lock.
- Connect connector on high pressure pump and lock.
- Connect and lock the connector of the Lambda oxygen sensor.
- Connect the connector of the monitoring oxygen sensor and lock.
- Make sure that all connectors engage audibly.
- Feed in wiring harness section (2) for sensor system 2 and install.
- Make sure that wiring harness section (2) for sensor system 2 is positioned correctly on cylinder head cover (arrows).
- Tighten down screw (1)
.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS
Wiring harness section for engine to cylinder lead cover M6 Tightening torque 5 Nm - Feed in wiring harness section (2) for sensor system 2 and install.
- Make sure the holder (1)
engages audibly.
- Insert and install the wiring harness section (2) for the Valvetronic servomotor in the direction of the arrow.
- Ensure that the locks (1)
engage audibly.
- Feed in wiring harness section (3) for injectors and ignition coils in arrow direction and install.
- Ensure that the lock engages audibly.
- Insert and install the positive battery cable (1)
.
- Insert and install the positive battery cable (2) on the holder (3) .
- Insert and install the battery positive terminal (1) .
- Tighten the battery positive terminal (1)
.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS
Positive battery terminal to battery Nut M6 Tightening torque 5 Nm - Connect and lock the connector (1) .
- Make sure the connector (1)
engages audibly.
- Connect connector (1) in the direction of the arrow and lock.
- Make sure the connectors (1)
engage audibly.
- Connect and lock the connector (1) .
- Make sure the connector (1) engages audibly.
- Insert and install the connector (1)
to the E-box (2)
in the direction of the arrow.
- Feed cover (2) in arrow direction into guides (3) and install.
- Ensure that the cover panel (2) audibly engages in the guides (3) .
- Tighten down screw (1)
.TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS
Cover panel to E-box RF5x26.5 Tightening torque 2.5 Nm - Install the tension strut (1) .
- Tighten screws (arrows).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS
Tension strut to battery tray M8 Tightening torque 19 Nm - Install mounting for the seal (1) and fasten with the expanding rivet (arrow).
