Removing the engine wiring harness for sensor system 1
Preliminary work

Engine wiring harness for sensor system 1
Precondition
Battery is disconnected.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.
Sheared wires can cause a short circuit.
Damage to wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.

- Do not pull on wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Loosen expanding rivet (arrow).
- Remove the mounting for the gasket (1)

- Release screws (arrows) and remove tension strut (1)

- Release the battery positive terminal (1) .
- Guide out the battery positive terminal (1) and place to the side.
- Guide the positive battery cable (2)
out of the holder (3)
and lay to one side.
- Loosen screw (1) .
- Unlock the cover panel (2)
and feed out of the guides (3)
in the direction of the arrow and remove.
- Feed connector (1) in arrow direction out of E-Box (2) and remove.
- Unlock and loosen connector (1)
.
- Unlock and remove the connector (1) in the direction of the arrow.
- Feed out connector (1)
and place to one side.
- Unlock and loosen connector (1)
.
- Thread out positive battery cable (1) and set it aside.
- Unlock lock (2) .
- Feed wiring harness section (3)
for injectors and ignition coils out in arrow direction, and place to side.
- Unlock the locks (1) .
- Feed out the wiring harness section (2)
for the
Valvetronic servomotor in the direction of the arrow and set aside.
- Unlock and loosen holder (1) .
- Feed wiring harness section (1)
for sensor system 1
out, and place to side.
- Unlock the lock (1) .
- Feed wiring harness section (3)
for sensor system 1
out of guide (2)
, and place to side.
- Unlock the locking mechanism (1) .
- Guide out and remove holder (2)
.
- Feed out coolant line (1)
and place to one side.
- Loosen screws (1) .
- Feed engine wiring harness (2) for sensor system 1 out, and place to side.
- Loosen screw (3) .
- Feed out ground cable (4)
and set it aside.
- Unlock and release the connector of the DME control unit.
- Unlock and release the connector of the integrated power supply module (PDM).
- Unlock and detach the connector of the boost pressure on the intake plenum.
- Unlock and loosen the connector of the heat management module.
- Unlock and release connector of coolant temperature sensor on cylinder head.
- Unlock and loosen the connectors of the knock sensors.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the temperature sensor at the cylinder head.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the oil pressure switch.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the hydraulic valve.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the crankshaft sensor.
- Unlock and release connector of boost pressure sensor on throttle valve.
- Unlock and detach the connector on the throttle valve.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the alternator.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the air conditioning compressor.
- Unlock and release connector of coolant temperature sensor on coolant radiator.
- Feed engine wiring harness (1) for sensor system 1 out and remove.
