Engine wiring harness for sensor system 2
Precondition
Battery is disconnected.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.
Sheared wires can cause a short circuit.

- Do not pull on wires when disconnecting connectors and plug connections.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Loosen expanding rivet (arrow).
- Remove the mounting for the gasket (1).
- Release screws (arrows) and remove tension strut (1).
- Release the battery positive terminal (1).
- Guide out the battery positive terminal (1) and place to the side.
- Guide the positive battery cable (2) out of the holder (3) and lay to one side.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Unlock the cover panel (2) and feed out of the guides (3) in the direction of the arrow and remove.
- Feed connector (1) in arrow direction out of E-Box (2) and remove.
- Unlock and loosen connector (1).
- Unlock and remove the connector (1) in the direction of the arrow.
- Feed out connector (1) and place to one side.
- Unlock and loosen connector (1).
- Thread out positive battery cable (1) and set it aside.
- Unlock lock (2).
- Feed wiring harness section (3) for injectors and ignition coils out in arrow direction, and place to side.
- Unlock the locks (1).
- Feed out the wiring harness section (2) for the
Valvetronic servomotor in the direction of the arrow and set aside.
- Unlock and loosen holder (1).
- Feed wiring harness section (1) for sensor system 2
out, and place to side.
- Loosen screw (1).
- Feed wiring harness section (1) for sensor system 2
out of cylinder head cover (arrows), and place to side.
- Unlock and release the connector of the DME control unit.
- Unlock and release the connector of the integrated power supply module (PDM).
- Unlock the connector at the heating element of the crankcase ventilation system and release.
- Unlock the connector of the electric wastegate valve actuator and release.
- Unlock the connector of the intake camshaft sensor and release.
- Unlock the connector of the exhaust camshaft sensor and release.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the rail pressure sensor.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the tank vent valve.
- Unlock and detach the connector of the hot film air mass meter.
- Connect the connector of both VANOS solenoid actuators and release.
- Unlock connector on high pressure pump and detach.
- Unlock connector of Lambda oxygen sensor and release.
- Unlock the connector of the monitoring oxygen sensor and release.
- Feed engine wiring harness (1) for sensor system 2 out and remove.
