Remove battery

WARNING: Working on 12 V electrical system.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!

Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
Detach battery ground lead from battery.
For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

Loosen expanding rivet (arrow).
Remove the mount (1) for the seal.

Release screws (arrows) and remove tension strut (1).

F56 Battery Electric Vehicle:
Unlock the plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unclip the cable clip (2).

Loosen screws (3).

Feed out and remove the heat pump controller (4).

Detach nut from positive battery cable (1).
Disconnect positive battery cable (1) and set it aside.
WARNING:
Unprotected battery terminals.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!
- Cover the vehicle battery.

Disconnect the air bleeder hose (arrow) from the battery (2).
Unscrew the screw (3) and guide it out with the holder and remove.
Guide out and remove vehicle battery (4).
