Remove battery
WARNING:
Working on 12 V electrical system.

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

- Loosen expanding rivet (arrow).
- Remove the mount (1) for the seal.
- Release screws (arrows) and remove tension strut (1).
- F56 Battery Electric Vehicle:
Unlock the plug connection (1) and disconnect.
Unclip the cable clip (2).
Loosen screws (3).
Feed out and remove the heat pump controller (4).
- Detach nut from positive battery cable (1).
- Disconnect positive battery cable (1) and set it aside.WARNING: Unprotected battery terminals.
Risk of short circuits! Risk of fire!- Cover the vehicle battery.
- Disconnect the air bleeder hose (arrow) from the battery (2).
- Unscrew the screw (3) and guide it out with the holder and remove.
- Guide out and remove vehicle battery (4).
