Removing and installing/replacing left-hand charge air duct (B36 engine) (Cooper base)
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
- Remove front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove THRUST FIELD .
REMOVAL:
Unlock lock (1) on both sides with suitable tool.
Detach charge air duct (2) from charge air cooler.
Unlock lock (1) on both sides with suitable tool.
Detach charge air duct (2) from throttle valve.
Turn charge air duct (1) and remove upwards.
Preparation for installation:
Check sealing lip (1) for damage.
Installation note:
Check that the seal (1) is fitted correctly:
The seal (1) appears to be fitted correctly in the pressure pipe.

The seal (1) appears to be fitted incorrectly in the pressure pipe.
INSTALLATION:
Release locks (1) from holders.
Turn charge air duct (1) and feed in downwards.
Connect charge air duct (1) to throttle valve until lock (2) engages on both sides.
Connect charge air duct (1) to charge air cooler until lock (2) engages on both sides.
Required follow-up work:
- Install front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Install THRUST FIELD .
- Install INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
- Check turbocharging path for leak tightness.
- Check function of DME.
