Removing and installing the intake system (B36 engine) (Cooper base)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Disconnect cable from BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
• Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
• Remove TANK VENTING VALVE .

Removal: 

Unlock connector (1) and detach.

Unclip the wiring harness (2) and release it from the intake system.

Unclip the positive line of the alternator (3) and release it from the intake system.

Unlock connector (1) and detach.

Unclip the coolant hose (2) from the holder.

Unclip the wiring harness (3) and release it from the intake system.

Unlock connector (1) and detach.

Unlock connector (2) and remove.

Unlock and detach pressure pipe (3) from throttle body.

Put the pressure pipe (3) to one side.

Release screws in the sequence (4 - 1).

Detach high-pressure rail (5) from cylinder head and remove.

Installation:

Install intake system (5).

Tighten screws in the sequence (1 - 4)  .

Tightening torque: 11 61 1AZ .

Connect connectors (1) and (2) and lock.

Make sure the connectors engage audibly.

Connect pressure pipe (3) to throttle body.

Make sure the pressure pipe engages audibly.

Connect and lock the connector (1).

Make sure the connector engages audibly.

Clip wiring harness (3) to intake system.

Connect and lock the connector (1).

Make sure the connector engages audibly.

Clip wiring harness (2) to intake system.

Clip positive line of alternator (3) to intake system.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install the TANK VENTING VALVE .
• Install INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
• Connect BATTERY EARTH LEAD .
