Failure of the component

Under normal circumstances malfunctions in the center-console control panel will be limited to failures in individual button assemblies. The Body Domain Controller (BDC) monitors the connected buttons as follows:

• Line disconnection
• Short circuit to ground
• Continuous operation

If a button is pressed and held continuously (e.g. using a handbag), a fault is entered in the fault memory of the corresponding control unit.

A function check of the buttons can be run using the diagnosis system.
