61 35 779 Replace Body Domain Controller control unit (BDC)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove/install BODY DOMAIN CONTROLLER (BDC) 

Replacement: 

Determine the action plan and carry it out.

Carry out PROGRAMMING/CODING .

Initialize the component protection (only F54, F60): 

After replacement of the BDC or  after installation of a used  head unit, the component protection in the head unit must be initialized once again.

For this purpose, the following steps must be carried out:

1. Request an enabling code from Technical Support.
2. Re-initialize the component protection with the diagnosis with the following immediate measure:
   • Vehicle handling
   • Software update
   • Additional software
   • Component protection initialization, head unit (HU)
