Flat Tire Monitor (FTM)

NOTE: The reset procedure is completed during a vehicle drive, and can be interrupted at any time. When the trip is resumed, the reset is continued automatically.

Without iDrive 

  1. Set the tire pressure of all wheels to specification.
  2. Start engine.
  3. Lightly push button 1 in the turn indicator lever up or down repeatedly until the corresponding symbol appears in the display accompanied by the word "RESET". See Fig 1.
  4. Press button 2 to confirm your choice of the Flat Tire Monitor. See Fig 1.
  5. Press button 2 for approx. 5 seconds, until the reading shown in Fig 2 is displayed.
  6. Drive vehicle. Initialization is automatically completed during the drive, without any additional feedback.

With iDrive 

  1. Set the tire pressure of all wheels to specification.
  2. Turn ignition switch ON.
  3. Press controller to call up iDive menu on the Control Display.
  4. Select "Vehicle info" and then "Vehicle status".
  5. Select "Reset" and start the engine. See Fig 3.
  6. Start the initialization using "Reset".
  7. Start driving. Initialization is automatically completed during the drive. "Status: Flat Tire Monitor active" is displayed on Control Display.
