Functional description

The fuel filler flap's lock is electrically disengaged at the operating points (user controls).

The Body Domain Controller (BDC) briefly activates the direct current motor of the central locking drive and triggers the fuel filler flap to unlock. The fuel filler flap can then be opened.

To lock it, the Body Domain Controller (BDC) briefly activates the direct current motor in the opposite direction. The DC motor's direction of rotation changes.

A linkage rod is installed on the central locking system's actuator. When the fuel filler flap is locked one end of the linkage rod extends into a clamp permanently attached to the filler flap. The fuel filler flap is released when the DC motor retracts the linkage rod.

It is also possible to release the fuel filler flap using the emergency-release function.
