BLUETOOTH Aerial: Notes
The Bluetooth aerial is a transceiver aerial of the telephone system and is used for the connection of Bluetooth-compatible end devices to the vehicle. Various versions of the phone system may be installed according to the vehicle's model series and equipment level.
- Telematics Control Unit (TCU)
- Interface box (ULF)
- Combox multimedia (CBX-MEDIA)
- Telephone system integrated in radio or headunit
A Bluetooth module is installed in the control units for the telephone system. The Bluetooth module is the interface between the telephone system and the end device and the Bluetooth handset. The Bluetooth module is connected to the Bluetooth aerial via an aerial line. The end device, as well as the Bluetooth handset, communicate with the telephone system via the Bluetooth radio standard.
The vehicle's Bluetooth connection can be permanently deactivated using the central information display in the vehicle. This is necessary, for example, if Bluetooth is not approved due to legal stipulations in certain countries.
Since 03/2010 the previously installed Bluetooth aerial has been gradually replaced with a new Bluetooth aerial on all the series.
