Functional description

The right B-pillar airbag sensor is an acceleration sensor and a lateral acceleration sensor. The airbag sensor detects both acceleration and deceleration (deceleration indicates a head-on collision; acceleration indicates a rear-end collision). The impact side is detected by the polarity of the sensor signals.
