Functional description

The additional brake light (CHMSL) is activated by the footwell module (FRM), the Rear Electronic Module (REM) or the Body Domain Controller (BDC).

A direct wire links the brake light switch to the footwell module (FRM) or the Front Electronic Module (FEM) or the Body Domain Controller (BDC).

The footwell module (FRM) or the Rear Electronic Module (REM) or the Body Domain Controller (BDC) receives the bus signals from the DSC (DSC) through the CAN bus. The bus signals contain information regarding the characteristic of the braking deceleration as well as the regulating operation of the Dynamic Stability Control. The footwell module (FRM) or the Rear Electronic Module (REM) or the Body Domain Controller (BDC) processes these data and then activates the additional brake light once Terminal R is under power.
