Failure of the component: 

If the additional brake light fails, the following behavior is to be expected:

• Failure due to short circuit:
  • Fault memory entry on the footwell module (FRM) or rear electronic module (REM) or body domain controller (BDC)
• Failure due to open circuit:
  • No display (failure can be detected through visual inspection)
