62 30... Replace the sound insulation for the Head Up Display

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Special tools required: 

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

IMPORTANT: When removing sound insulation, particles may fall into Head Up Display.

If necessary, carefully remove particles.

Protect Head Up Display from damage.

Removal: 

Preliminary work needed: 

Fold out service flap (1) in arrow direction.

NOTE: Release service cover (1) on the side using special tool 64 1 020 .

NOTE: The service cover can only be unclipped in only one particular position.

Carefully unclip service cover (1) towards the front.

IMPORTANT: When removing sound insulation, particles may fall into Head Up Display.

If necessary, carefully remove particles.

Carefully detach the sound insulation (2) from the service cover (1).

If applicable, carefully remove the residue of the sound insulation (1) via the special tool 64 1 020 .

IMPORTANT: When removing sound insulation, particles may fall into Head Up Display.

If necessary, carefully remove particles.

Carefully detach the rear sound insulation (1) from the Head-Up Display.

If necessary, carefully remove sound insulation (1) residues using special tool 64 1 020 .

Installation: 

NOTE: The adhesive area (2) must be as free as possible of sound insulation residues.

Detach the liner (2) from the sound insulation (1).

NOTE: Do not tap bonding surface.

NOTE: Avoid excessive pulling on sound insulation (2) to prevent elongation of sound insulation (2).

Make sure sound insulation (2) is properly seated and bonded on service cover (1).

Bond sound insulation (2) onto service cover (1), starting with one side, without applying pressure.

If necessary, carefully detach the sound insulation (2) and correct.

If sound insulation (2) is seated properly, firmly press it on service cover (1).

NOTE: The service cover can only be clipped on in one particular position.

Carefully clip in service cover (1).

Close service cover (1) in arrow direction.

NOTE: Make sure the service flap (1) is properly engaged.

NOTE: The adhesive area (1) must be as free as possible of sound insulation residues.

Slightly detach the liner (2) from the sound insulation (1) on one corner.

NOTE: Do not tap bonding surface.

NOTE: Avoid excessive pulling on sound insulation (2) to prevent elongation of sound insulation (2).

Make sure that there is a correct fit and bonding of the sound insulation (2).

Detach the liner (1) and bond the sound insulation (2) onto the Head-Up Display at the same time, starting on one side. Do not apply any pressure.

If necessary, carefully detach the sound insulation (1) and correct.

When the fit of the sound insulation (2) is correct, tightly press it.

NOTE: Make sure the sound insulation (1) sits and bonds properly on the Head-Up Display.

If the sound insulation (1) sits properly, firmly press it on the Head-Up Display.
