Replacing control unit (DME) (Cooper Convertible)
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove vehicle BATTERY
- Remove left windshield PANEL COVER.
It is absolutely essential to read out the fault memory with the MINI diagnostic system and create a fault memory printout.
Replacement:
- Carry out PROGRAMMING/CODING
- If no data can be read out from the previous control unit, carry out injection quantity compensation (description at end of instructions).
Removal:
Remove screw (1).
Remove equipment holder (1) from the battery plate in arrow direction and slightly pull it to the front.
Unclip and remove cover (1).
Unlock and disconnect all connectors (1) on control unit.
Unclip and remove cover (1).
Unlock locks (1) and remove DME control unit (2) in upwards direction.
Installation:
Slide DME control unit (1) into the equipment holder until the locks (2) can be locked.
Install cover (1).
Connect all connectors (1) to control unit.
All connectors (1) must engage audibly.
Installation note:
Connect connectors from front to rear.
Install cover (1).
Insert equipment holder (1) into rear section of battery plate (2) in arrow direction.
Tighten screw (1).
Tightening torque 12 90 1AZ .
Required follow-up work:
- Install vehicle BATTERY
- Install left windshield PANEL COVER .
Attention!
If the DME control unit has been replaced, it will also be necessary to reset the minimum quantity adjustment of the injectors!
