Customer-initiated software update (KISA)

KISA (available subject to equipment version) enables customers to update the software for a system component (operation via the menu options on the central information display). To do this, the necessary software must be downloaded via BMW/MINI and stored on a USB stick. Any conventional USB stick with sufficient storage capacity can be used. After that, the software on the USB stick can be transferred to the headunit via the USB audio interface (SA6FL) on the center console, and then be updated.
