SUBJECT
Adjusting Rear Camber
SITUATION
Rear camber cannot be adjusted properly.
CAUSE
Repair instructions not followed properly
PROCEDURE
Follow these steps when adjusting the rear camber:
- Raise the rear axle (tire spin-free).
- Loosen the lock bolt (1).
- Turn the eccentric adjuster (2) to full positive (large portion of eccentric points down).
- Slightly tighten the lock bolt (1).
- Lower the axle and compress suspension.
- Slacken the lock bolt (1) and adjust the camber (2).
- Tighten down the lock bolt.
This procedure can be found in Repair Instruction 32 00 620, "Adjusting rear axle."
Failure to follow these steps may result in damage to the adjustment bore in the rear trailing arm.
