Trailer Lighting And Fully Automatic Trailer Tow Hitch: Notes
All vehicles with a trailer hitch are equipped with a trailer module (AHM). The trailer module (AHM) is an additional control unit for light control in the vehicle. The trailer module (AHM) is necessary to operate the trailer power circuits separately from the circuits of the towing vehicle. This enables separate light monitoring of the trailer lighting. The trailer module (AHM) is also used for trailer detection.
In addition, the trailer module (AHM) controls and monitors the function of the fully automatic trailer tow hitch.
The fully automatic trailer tow hitch is operated using a button in the luggage compartment.
The faults are stored in the trailer module (AHM). If necessary, a Check Control message is generated and displayed in the instrument cluster.
Depending on the series, there are two versions of the fully automatic trailer tow hitch available (manufacturers: Oris and Westfalia).
