Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 34 other vehicles, including the 2004 BMW M3, 2004 BMW 330xi, 2004 BMW 330i, 2004 BMW 330Ci, and 2004 BMW 325xi. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Switch off ignition.
  2. Protect brake system against unauthorized actuation.
  3. Unlock plug connection and detach. See Fig 1.
  4. Detach pressure sensor with special tool 34 1 290. See Fig 2.
  5. To install, reverse removal procedure.
  6. Check sealing surfaces and thread of pressure sensor and of hydraulic unit for damage.
  7. Screw in a new pressure sensor immediately after unscrewing the old pressure sensor.
  8. Tighten pressure sensor to hydraulic unit using special tool 34 1 290 and torque to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  9. Bleed front axle circuit. See appropriate DISC article.
  10. Check pressure sensor under pressure for leaks.
  11. Turn on ignition and firmly depress brake pedal. Warning lamps must not come on.
