32 13... Checking Distance Between Engine Carrier And Stem Of Double Joint/Installing Power Steering Gear Straightened

CAUTION:
If the distance between engine carrier and stem of double joint is less than 5 mm, the steering gear must be installed "straightened"!
Unfasten screws.
Press steering gear on left side in direction of travel to rear and on right side forwards against stop.
This is done in reverse sequence on RHD vehicles!
This ensures the maximum distance between engine carrier and stem of double joint.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Tightening torque, 32 00 1AZ. Refer to STEERING AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
