Engine oil temperature sensor: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 45 other vehicles, including the 2016 BMW M5, 2016 BMW 550i xDrive, 2016 BMW 550i, 2016 BMW 535i xDrive, and 2016 BMW 535i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The engine oil temperature sensor is screwed into the main oil duct.

The engine oil temperature sensor converts the temperature of the engine oil into an electrical value (resistance). To do this, a resistance with negative temperature coefficient (NTC) is used. The oil temperature is the measured variable for the following calculations, for example: Fuel injection rate and nominal idle speed.
