64 12... Initializing Telestart hand-held transmitter (T93) (from version 03/2007 onward)

NOTE: The Telestart hand-held transmitter must be initialized after:
  • Hand-held transmitter is replaced
  • Car Access System control unit is replaced

The auxiliary heating is switched on under an ambient temperature of approx. 15 °C with the hand-held transmitter and at a preselected switch-on time.
Direct activation is possible at any outside temperature via the "Climate" menu item in the i-Drive, but not in driving mode.

Procedure of initialization 

  1. Close all vehicle doors
  2. Insert radio-operated key into shaft and immediately remove again, switch d.h. terminal R on and off (max. switched-on period 5 s)
  3. Within 10 s, simultaneously press the ON button and the OFF button for 3 s.

    The indicator light (LED) lights up orange.

  4. Release both buttons.
  5. Within 10 s (while the indicator light is lit) operate the ON button briefly three times.

    The indicator light flashes orange (approx. 1.5 s long).

  6. The central locking signals successful initialization of the Telestart transmitter by immediately locking and unlocking.
