61 11... Installing repair cable for right Side View camera

Read and comply with notes on HANDLING WIRING HARNESSES AND WIRING .

NOTE: Work is shown on the E70 by way of example. There may be differences in detail in the case of other vehicle types and equipment specifications.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Release screws (1) and remove air duct (2).

Carefully pull carpet (1) in passenger footwell downward. Break through opening (2) in rubber grommet (3) using a suitable tool.

Undo clip (1) and screws (3). Remove cover (2).

Unlock the lock (1) in direction of arrow with suitable tool.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!

Unlock the lock (3) carefully  with a suitable tool. Pull connector housing (4) of line (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation note: 

Pay attention to encoding (5)!

NOTE: Repair cable (1) is laid from Side View camera (2) along wiring harness (4) in the wheel arch in the passenger footwell under the heating and air-conditioning unit to the all-round vision camera control unit in the driver's footwell.
Leave approx. 10 cm overlength in the area of Side View camera (2).

Connect repair cable (1) to Side View camera (2).

Lay repair cable (1) in direction of arrow behind support (3) along wiring harness (4) and secure to points marked with an arrow (picture A, B, C).

Feed though repair cable (1) at point (5) in passenger footwell and lay under wiring harness (7) and wiring harness mounting (6) (picture C, D).

IMPORTANT: To prevent moisture from entering the passenger compartment, seal opening (5) on the outside, using suitable means!

Carefully pull carpet (1) downward. Lay repair cable (2) in direction of arrow under wiring harness (3) and secure at a point marked with an arrow.

Feed through repair cable (1) under heating and air-conditioning unit (2) from passenger footwell into driver's footwell.

Lay repair cable in direction of arrow under heating and air-conditioning unit (1), foam material (2) and carpet (3).

Lay repair cable in direction of arrow and secure at a point marked with an arrow.

Assemble repair cable.

Connect repair cable to connector (2) of all-round vision camera control unit (1) (bottom slot).

NOTE: Lay any repair cable overlength under carpet.

After successful completion of function check  , detach start and end of faulty cable  at first mounting point.
