12 14 550 Replacing control unit (DME)

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read fault memory.
Switch off ignition
DISCONNECT BATTERY
Remove LOWER SECTION OF MICROFILTER HOUSING ON RIGHT .

IMPORTANT: Follow instructions for REMOVING AND INSTALLING ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNITS

Unlock cover (1) with slide (3).

Release bolts (2).

Remove electronics box cover (1).

Installation:

Engage electronics box cover (1) correctly in hinges.

Security version:

Remove DME armor plating.

Unlock and detach all plug connections on DME control unit (1).

Unlock DME control unit (1) and remove.

Carry out CODING/PROGRAMMING .

NOTE: Read out fault memory of DME control unit.
Check stored fault messages.
Now clear the fault memory.
