65 77 700 Removing and Installing (Replacing) Safety Information Module

Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect and cover battery negative lead. See 12 00 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY
Remove trim for instrument panel, bottom right. See 51 45 181 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM AT BOTTOM RIGHT

Unlock catch (1) in direction of arrow.

Pull safety information module (2) out of control unit carrier (3) slightly.

Unlock plug connections (4) and disconnect.

Remove safety information module (2).

Replacement:

Carry out coding/programming.

Observe following IDC specifications:
