61 71 061 Replacing Fluid Reservoir For Windshield Washer System

Remove front underbody protection.

Partially remove front left wheel arch trim.

Remove bottom left cover.

NOTE: Washer fluid will escape when the windshield washer pump is pulled out. Have a suitable container and cleaning cloth ready. Observe filling capacities of fluid reservoir.

Remove level switch for windshield washer system, windshield washer pump and if necessary washer pump of headlight cleaning system from fluid reservoir and set to one side.

NOTE: Lines remain connected.

Pull filler channel (1) out of fluid reservoir (3).

Installation: 

Replace sealing ring on filler channel (1).

Detach vent hose (2) from fitting on fluid reservoir (3).

Release screws (1).

Release nut (2) and remove fluid reservoir (3) towards bottom.

Installation: 

Tightening torque (screws and nuts) = 5 Nm.

Installation: 

Replace sealing rings and strainers of washer pumps.

Coat sealing rings of washer pumps with antiseize agent.

Lay washer pump lines without kinks and clip into holders on fluid reservoir.

Fill fluid reservoir for windshield washer system.

Observe filling capacities.
