32 00... Assembling, Installing And Removing Special Tool For Locating Active Front Steering Gear

Special tools required:

Overview diagram:

32 4 153 - stand
32 4 154 - clamping block
32 4 155 - fork

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove underbody protection at FRONT and REAR
Remove left steering gear cover

Assembling locating aid:

Screw stand 32 4 153 into clamping block 32 4 154 and tighten down.

Installing locating aid:

Secure clamping block 32 4 154 to front axle carrier mount/control arm.

F = direction of travel

Align fork 32 4 155 to lower steering spindle, attach and secure with screw (2).

If necessary, release plastic nut (1) on stand 32 4 153 .

Align stand 32 4 153 using small bore hole as illustrated to fork 32 4 155 and attach.

Tighten down plastic nut on stand 32 4 153 .
