Camber Adjustment: Rear

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 BMW 645Ci and 2004 BMW 645Ci. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: If swinging arm-to-rear axle support nut is tightened down more than 10 times during adjustment, it must be replaced. Self-locking effect becomes too weak.
NOTE: A change in camber also means a change in toe. This means that camber must be adjusted first.
  1. Before adjusting, replace swinging arm-to-rear axle support nut (1) and tighten down. See Fig 1 . Release swinging arm-to-rear axle support nut (1) about one half to one turn.
  2. Turn eccentric screw to adjust camber. See Fig 2 . Adjust precisely to specification. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Tighten swinging arm-to-rear axle support nut (1) to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Check installation position of eccentric washer (2). See Fig 1 . Correct if necessary.
  4. Adjust toe-in. See Rear  under TOE-IN ADJUSTMENT.
