Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 34 other vehicles, including the 2004 BMW M3, 2004 BMW 330xi, 2004 BMW 330i, 2004 BMW 330Ci, and 2004 BMW 325xi. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Open wheel speed sensor (ABS pulse generator) housing (1). Pull connector (2) out of bracket and disconnect. See Figure.
  2. Pull cable with rubber grommet from bracket on spring strut and on body.
  3. Remove hexagon socket screw (1) and remove wheel pulse sensor (2) from bore. See Fig 2.
  4. To install, reverse removal procedure.
  5. Clean and lubricate hole for wheel pulse sensor with Staburags NBU 12/K or equivalent.
  6. Tighten hexagon socket screw to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Make sure plug connection is properly engaged and rubber grommet is correctly seated.
