32 41... Replacing pressure line for Dynamic Drive (part 1) (N54): Notes
RISK OF INJURY if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin!
Close off pipe connections with plugs.
- Do not allow any dirt particles or foreign bodies to get into the system
- Use only fluff-free cloths
- Remove all traces of dirt before removing pipes or individual components
- Seal all fuel system openings with protective caps
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Catch and dispose of hydraulic fluid in a suitable container.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Draw off and dispose of hydraulic fluid from fluid reservoir
- Remove underbody protection incl. cover. See 51 47 490 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION , 51 47 491 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION , 51 71... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING BOTTOM LEFT OR RIGHT STEERING GEAR COVER , 51 71... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TOP LEFT STEERING GEAR COVER , 51 71... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TOP RIGHT STEERING GEAR COVER .
- Remove REINFORCEMENT PLATE
- Clamp off BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD
- Drain COOLANT .
- Remove ACOUSTIC COVER
- Remove TENSION STRUT FROM SPRING STRUT DOME ON LEFT
- Disconnect coolant hoses above pressure line, remove if necessary
- Disconnect fuel feed and return lines above pressure line Open cover.
Release nut and remove battery positive lead (1) from battery positive terminal.
Release hexagon socket screws from flange (1) and remove pressure line.
Tightening torque 32 41 16AZ .
Seal pressure line and power steering pump connection with suitable sealing plugs.
Installation:
Replace all sealing rings.
Make sure pressure line is laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.
Release bolts (1) and remove bracket (2) from crankcase on left.
Tightening torque 32 41 18AZ .
Installation:
Make sure pressure line is laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.
Release bolts (1) and remove holder with expandable hose (3).
Tightening torque 32 41 18AZ .
Installation:
Make sure pressure line is laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.

Release banjo bolt (1).
From build date 10/08, release hexagon socket bolts from flange (1).
Tightening torque 32 41 11AZ (banjo bolt).
Tightening torque 32 41 16AZ (hexagon socket bolts).
Seal pressure lines with suitable sealing plugs.
Installation:
Make sure pressure line is laid without tension and with sufficient spacing to adjoining components.
