13 54 544 Removing And Installing/Replacing Left Hall Sensor (S85)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release nut and remove line (1).

Tighten to specified torque, see 12 52 2AZ in 52 CONNECTORS, PLUGS .

Remove cover (2) from control unit for ionic current.

Unlock plug (3) and remove.

Release screw and remove holder (1).

Release wiring harness from retaining clip (2).

Disconnect lead (3).

Unlock plug (1) and remove.

Release screw and carefully raise cable duct (2).

Release screws and detach Hall sensor (1) towards front.

Installation: 

Make sure Hall sensor is installed in correct position.

IMPORTANT: After performing work on the throttle valve system (throttle valve assembly, servomotor, Hall sensor), it is absolutely essential to carry out a throttle valve actuator system test with the BMW diagnosis system!
Function selection:
  • Complete vehicle
  • Drive
  • Engine electronics
  • Air supply
  • Throttle valves
  • Throttle valve actuator
NOTE: Check stored fault messages
