TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION - VARIABLE CAMSHAFT CONTROL

  Type Thread Tightening specification Measure
1AZ VANOS to inlet and exhaust camshafts S85 M12x1 Replace screws
Screws oiled at threads and heads
 
      1. Jointing torque 20 Nm
      2. Angle of rotation 180 °
      3. Important: release screws.  
      4. Jointing torque 20 Nm
      5. Angle of rotation 180 °
2AZ Connection, pressure line 1 to pressure line 2 S85 M12x1.5   25 Nm
3AZ Connection, pressure accumulator S85 M12x1.5 Replace all sealing rings. 25 Nm
4AZ Connection, high-pressure pump S85 M12x1.5 Replace all sealing rings. 25 Nm
5AZ Connection, pressure line S85 M12x1.5 Replace all sealing rings. 25 Nm
6AZ Connection, VANOS adjustment unit S85 M10x1 Replace all sealing rings. 23 Nm
7AZ Gearwheel to VANOS high-pressure pump S85 M6   7 Nm
8AZ VANOS high-pressure pump to bedplate S85 M6   10 Nm
