Safety functions

To protect the motors from overload, the motors have blocking recognition. If the drive is blocked, the current in the motor rises. The applicable control unit compares the starting current in normal operation to the current when the drive is blocked. An obstruction ('blocking') is detected by any difference in the current. The motor is no longer driven.

• Repeat interlock

  To provide overheating protection for the motor, the exterior mirror fold-in function is locked after it has been working for a total of 45 seconds. If the anti-repeat circuit is active, the electric exterior mirrors can be unfolded once more.

• Undervoltage cutout

The supply voltage for the electric exterior mirrors is monitored by the junction box electronics (JBE). All electric exterior mirror functions are locked if the voltage drops below 8.5 Volts. As of an vehicle voltage of 9 Volts, the functions are available again.
