61 61 010 Checking/Adjusting Approach Angle Of Windshield Wiper Arms On Front Windscreen

Special tools required: 

NOTE: When the contact angle of the windshield wiper arms to the windshield is adjusted precisely, this will increase the wiping quality.

Checking contact angle: 

Select the service function "Mounting position" with DIS or MoDiC.

The following special tool is required to check the contact angle:

Relieve load on wiper blades before checking contact angle. To do so, lift wiper blades briefly off windshield before placing them back on windshield.

Wiper blades rest on markings on windshield.

Place special tools in each case at height of pivot point of wiper blade on windshield.

When correctly adjusted, no gap can be seen between special tool and wiper blade.

Adjusting left wiper arm: 

Adjustment is carried out with a second person assisting.

Remove cover cap (1) in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

Make sure locks (1) are correctly engaged.

Slacken nut (1).

Wiper blade must rest above marking (2) on windshield.

Place special tool 00 9 331  at height of pivot point of wiper blade on windshield.

Turn wiper arm until no gap can be seen between special tool 00 9 331  and wiper blade.

Hold wiper arm in this position and tighten down nut (1).

Tightening torque  . See GENERAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES -- ALPINA .

Perform one-touch wiping twice. Check adjustment and repeat if necessary.

Adjusting right wiper arm: 

Adjustment is carried out with a second person assisting.

Remove cover (1).

Slacken adjusting screw (1).

Wiper blade must rest above marking (2) on windshield.

Place special tool 00 9 230  at height of pivot point of wiper blade on windshield.

Turn wiper arm until no gap can be seen between special tool 00 9 230  and wiper blade.

Hold wiper arm in this position and tighten down adjusting screw (1).

Tightening torque  . See GENERAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES -- ALPINA .

Perform one-touch wiping twice. Check adjustment and repeat if necessary.
