12 14 537 Replacing camshaft pulse generator

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Switch off ignition
• Read out fault memory of DME control unit
• Check stored fault messages
• Remove right engine support arm, refer to 22 11 100 REPLACING RIGHT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET (FROM 12.03) or 22 11 100 REPLACING RIGHT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET (UP TO 12.03)

Unlock and disconnect pulse generator plug.

Release screw (1), remove pulse generator (2).

Installation: 

Replace sealing ring and coat with antiseize agent.

Tightening torque 13 62 1AZ. Refer to FUEL SUPPLY SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
