Evaporative System Leak Test Tool

Cartool # 161 170

Used to test for leaks in the vehicle's evaporative system. It is used in conjunction with the 25 bar pressure sensor cable and an ultrasonic leak detector (available through the Equipment program 1 888 222 7997). The Repair instructions for this tool and vehicle are currently not correct. They will be corrected with the June repair manual update. Contact the Technical Hotline for operational questions.

NOTE: The repair manual calls for the 3.5 bar pressure sensor cable. This is incorrect. Use the 25 bar pressure sensor. When a pressure sensor cable is attached to the tester and opened to atmosphere it will read absolute pressure (~1 bar). This is normal. Subtract 1 bar from your final reading to obtain relative pressure. Always visually inspect the gas cap gasket for rips, tears, hardening or dents.
