Description & Operation: Notes
The center of the EEC-IV system is the Electronic Control Assembly (ECA), located under glove box. The ECA receives information from various sensors and switches. Based on information received and calibrated programs in the ECA's memory, the ECA generates output signals which control complete engine operation.
The calibration module for the EEC-IV system is mounted inside the ECA, unlike the EEC-III system. EEC-IV system controls air/fuel mixture, ignition, emission controls, A/C clutch and idle speed. The EEC-IV system has self-diagnostic capabilities.
