Steering Column: Installation

  1. Install steering column assembly. Connect all switch wiring connectors. Install steering column mounting bracket attaching washers and nuts. Tighten attaching nuts to 13-16 ft. lbs. (18-22 N.m).
  2. Position lower instrument panels, and connect all wires and connectors. Position hood release bracket and install attaching screw. Install steering column lower and upper trim panels. Raise vehicle. Tighten steering shaft universal joint clamp bolt to 14-19 ft. lbs. (20-25 N.m). Lower vehicle and connect battery ground cable.
