Bearing Inspection
- Inspect bearings for the following defects:
- Cratering - fatigue failure
- Spot polishing - incorrect seating
- Imbedded dirty engine oil
- Scratching - dirty engine oil
- Base exposed - poor lubrication
- Both edges worn - journal damaged
- One edge worn - journal tapered or bearing not seated
