Pinpoint Test E: The Power Sliding Door Does Not Open Using The Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter

  1. E1 CHECK THE LOCK/UNLOCK OPERATION FROM THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) TRANSMITTER 
    • Operate the door locks from the RKE transmitter.
    • Do the doors lock and unlock correctly? 
    • Yes  : GO to E2  .
    • No  : To diagnose the inoperative door locks from the RKE transmitter, GO to PINPOINT TEST G .
  2. E2 CHECK THE RKE TRANSMITTER INPUT TO THE SJB 
    • Connect the diagnostic tool.
    • Key in ON position.
    • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Smart Junction Box (SJB) PIDs.

      Monitor the SJB RKE transmitter power sliding door PIDS while pressing the RKE transmitter open and close buttons.

    • Do the PID values agree with the button presses? 
  3. E3 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    • Yes  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
    • No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
