Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove the cowl vent screen. For additional information, refer to FRONT END BODY PANELS .
  3. Remove the RH catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM .
  4. Remove the RH halfshaft. For additional information, refer to FRONT DRIVE HALFSHAFTS .
  5. Remove and discard the roll restrictor cross brace-to-roll restrictor bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

  6. NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.
  7. Remove the 4 roll restrictor cross brace bolts.
    • Remove the cross brace.
    • To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).

  8. Remove the 3 bolts and the RH exhaust manifold heat shield.
    • To install, tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).
  9. Remove the engine support insulator lower nut.
    • To install, tighten to 70 Nm (52 lb-ft).
  10. Remove the engine support insulator upper nut.
    • To install, tighten to 70 Nm (52 lb-ft).
  11. Remove the bolt and detach the power steering pressure (PSP) tube from the RH cylinder head.
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
  12. Mount the special tool to the RH cylinder head.

  13. Using the special tools, raise the engine to gain the clearance necessary to remove the insulator.
    • Remove the engine support insulator.

  14. CAUTION: Make sure that the engine support insulator locator pin is aligned correctly with the bracket.
  15. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
