Disassembly And Assembly: Pump: Assembly

NOTE: Make sure the punch mark on the power steering pump rotor is toward the front of the power steering pump on assembly.
  1. Place the power steering pump rotor into the power steering pump cam ring.

  2. NOTE: Make sure the rounded ends of the vanes are facing towards the outside of the power steering pump housing.

  3. Install the vanes in the power steering pump rotor.
  4. Install the guide pins.

  5. Position the cam ring and the power steering pump rotor on the rear power steering pump housing between the guide pins.

  6. Using the special tool, install the power steering pump bearing.

  7. Using the special tools, install the pump seal.

  8. Using the special tools, install the power steering pump rotor shaft into the front power steering pump housing.

  9. Install the snap ring.

  10. Install the power steering pump pressure switch.

  11. Install the power steering pump return hose fitting.

  12. Install the rear power steering pump housing bolts.

  13. Install the control spring and the control valve.

  14. Install the power steering pump control valve and the power steering pump control valve spring nut.
