Fuel System Pressure Release
WARNING:
DO NOT smoke or carry lighted tobacco or an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited, possibly resulting in personal injury. Fuel supply tubes will remain pressurized for long periods of time after engine shutdown. This pressure must be relieved before servicing of fuel system has begun.
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any fuel tube, release fuel pressure from fuel system to reduce possibility of injury or fire. Use a rag as protection from fuel spray when disconnecting hoses. Plug hoses after disconnection.
Remove left side engine compartment relay panel cover. Remove fuel pump relay. Start engine. After engine stalls, crank engine 2 more times to ensure all pressure has been released. Turn ignition off. Install fuel pump relay.
