Latch Remote Control - Liftgate: Removal

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the watershield.
    3. NOTE: Mark the position of the liftgate latch cable adjusting brackets before removing the bolts.
  3. Disconnect the liftgate latch cables.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the liftgate latch cable adjusting brackets from the latch remote control.
    3. Disconnect the liftgate latch cables from the latch remote control.

  4. Release the liftgate exterior handle actuating rod.

  5. Release the lock cylinder actuating rod.

  6. Release the liftgate disarm switch electrical harness locator.

  7. If equipped, disconnect the liftgate power lock actuator electrical connector.

    8. NOTE: If necessary, transfer parts to the new liftgate latch remote control.
  8. Remove the liftgate latch remote control.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the liftgate latch remote control.
