Removal & Installation

Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) is equipped with a permanent pigtail which must be protected when HO2S is removed. HO2S may be difficult to remove when engine temperature is less than 120°F (48°C). If necessary use a penetrant to help in loosening HO2S. Using Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor Socket (T94P-9472-A), remove HO2S from exhaust manifolds. Ensure HO2S is free of contaminants, and avoid using cleaning solvents of any type. Always use anti-seize compound on threads prior to installation. Tighten HO2S to specification.
